Forbes Family Group are delighted to announce that they have entered into a two-year partnership agreement making them Ten Em Bee’s main sponsor and social responsibility partner.
Ten Em Bee, a long-standing community centre and football club based in the London Borough of Lewisham has long provided a place for young boys and girls from the surrounding areas a safe and progressive place to come and play football, alongside other activities. The club has lifted and elevated over 10,000 young people since being established in 1975. A caring and family run pillar of the community, Ten Em Bee is most famous for nurturing talent such as former Arsenal and England striker, Ian Wright and his sons Shawn Wright Philips and Bradley Wright Phillips along with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez and Bristol City’s Kasey Palmer.
As part of the partnership Ten Em Bee will be opening its doors during the school holidays to provide out of school care to children of local and low-income families, providing kids with a safe place to come during the holiday. Here they will have the opportunity to participate in a full and fulfilling program of activities part funded by Forbes Family Group. In addition to continuing to support and develop the 30 football teams they already run from under 7’s to seniors, including over 1000 young people.
“We are a family run, community club and are very excited to get into this partnership with a family we know very well. This arrangement will allow us to continue to provide, and expand how we help our local community coming out of what has been a tough year for everyone including us”- Paul Palmer (Head Of Football)
“Ten Em Bee is exactly the type of environment and program communities like Lewisham rely on. They provide much needed vocational, sports and educational support in areas that really need them. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the great work they have been, and continue to do”-Davina Forbes-Williamson, CEO, Forbes Family Group
Upon learning about Ten Em Bee, their aspirations for a ‘school holiday’ project and Forbes Family Groups’ involvement, the team at JMI Equity, a Boston based investment firm also donated to Ten Em Bee as did the team from Erevena, one of Europe’s leading technology executive search firms.
Ten Em Bee will reopen their doors to the community in July 2021 in preparation for the new football season and will announce details around their summer holiday camps in the coming weeks.
