The Forbes Family Group (FFG) successfully concluded their Help 4 1000 programme in May, an initiative that saw the company provide 1,000 meals, 1,000 nappies and 1,000 changes of clothes for children of families hardest hit by these challenging times.
‘During times like these we wanted to make sure that we were playing our role in helping to support families and children hardest hit. We lent on our own network to source the items and then make sure that they were delivered through the correct charities, right into the households in South London that needed them the most’ said Danielle Forbes, CEO Forbes Family Group.
‘The meal donations that we were able to make to through the Young Carers Programme allowed for meaningful intervention at a vulnerable moment in the life of each young person. In one instance a family had just purchased school uniform for their children and they didn’t have any money left to buy food. That donation of meals went a long way in providing a weeks worth of nutritious food’ said Tom Scannell Head of The Young Carers Program and the Simply Kids Centre in Croydon South London (https://www.simplykidsltd.co.
“Requests for support from Little Village have reached our highest levels during the pandemic as families struggle with new circumstances, hit by the widespread economic impact of the disease. We’ve been supplying essentials such as nappies and toiletries to help families keep going. We couldn’t have done this without the support of members of our local community such as Forbes Family Group.” Said Rebecca Wilson from Little Village. – www.littlevillagehq.org
‘We are incredibly proud to have been able to provide this small amount of help during these tough times. We recognise these people that we were able to help as we lived through similar family and financial challenges in the same parts of London. We plan to continue looking for ways to help, this is just the start for FFG’ – Dean Forbes, Chairman FFG.
