How it all started: Our Game

Today, we know Francis Duku as the owner and CEO of Our Game, an organisation that is dedicated to providing effective support to, and addressing the gaps in the semi-professional and amateur game. What a lot of people don't know is that the concept of Our Game goes all the way back to Francis Duku's years as a football player for Gravesend. 

In a pre-season fixture for Gravesend, Francis Duku broke his ankle attempting an overhead kick. This misfortune put an end to his childhood dream of playing professional football, but proved to be the inspiration behind his plans to revolutionise the game for many others.

Dean Forbes is appointed as Chief Executive of Forterro

Austin, TX, February 16, 2021—Forterro, a group of companies that deliver enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to small- and medium-sized businesses, today announced the appointment of two new executives to lead the company into a new phase of growth in its core market, Europe.

Dean Forbes, a longtime, U.K.-based software executive who was most recently the president of The Access Group, was named Forterro’s chief executive. Paul Smolinski, the former chief financial officer of HR and payroll software firm CoreHR, was named CFO.

A Statement In Response To Negative Feedback On My Powerlist Nomination

I don’t believe in separation. Over the years I have been lucky enough to be considered for many race based accolades. ‘The First Black xxx’ or the ‘top black xxxx’ have all come across my desk at some point and I have always politely declined; for two reasons. Firstly I don’t believe in recognition in this way and secondly because I don’t compete in my profession on irrational criteria like race. I don’t want to be the best black anything. I want to be the best, full stop. However when I was nominated to the Powerlist, I felt quite different and in the wake of some of the negative feedback I’d like to explain why.
